The second phase of the training course on skill development and pathway to the job market, part of the “Computer Skills and Pathway to the Job Market” project, concluded today at the International Language and Training Institute (ILTI), a subsidiary of Yemen Information Center (YIC) in Aden. Ten students from Aden and Lahj governorates participated in this second group, which was from September 15th to 30th, 2024.

This final phase of the project included several key topics: general knowledge about developing job market skills; defining and creating different types of resumes; understanding the Applicant Tracking System (ATS); avoiding common resume (CV) writing mistakes; cover letter writing; preparing for and navigating job interviews; identifying key job platforms; and professional email correspondence and electronic archiving, among other relevant job market topics.

The course instructor, Mr. Zaki Husain Ahmad, emphasized the project’s importance in equipping young people with essential life skills based on modern standards that meet the needs of the job market in all technical and technological fields. It aims to empower youth with the scientific and practical knowledge of the value of economic and social development.

This two-phase project (August and September), targeting 20 students from Lahj and Aden governorates, is part of the institute’s strategic goals to provide quality education and training opportunities for young people at all levels. It aims to provide society with qualified graduates possessing the skills needed to meet the requirements of the modern job market in various professional and scientific fields.
